The Era of Gadgets By Aril

Nowadays, almost everyone uses gadgets, including children and toddlers. They are introduced to smartphones at a very young age. While gadgets can provide entertainment and convenience, excessive use without control can cause negative effects, especially for children who are still in their developmental years.

From a health perspective, children who spend too much time on gadgets tend to move less. They often prefer sitting for long periods in front of a screen rather than playing outside. As a result, they may experience problems such as eye strain, difficulty sleeping, neck pain, and even obesity due to lack of physical activity. These issues can affect their long-term health.

In addition, excessive gadget use can also impact a child's psychological well-being. Many children become addicted to games or videos. They may have trouble concentrating when studying, get bored easily, and even become irritable when not allowed to use gadgets. Without proper supervision, this can lead to dependency on digital entertainment and difficulty managing emotions.

To prevent these problems, the role of parents is very important. Children need to be guided to use gadgets wisely. This can be done by limiting screen time, choosing age-appropriate content, and encouraging outdoor play. That way, children can still enjoy technology without losing the active, healthy, and happy childhood they deserve.
